Spring Opening Instructions- Before removing the winter cover use a submersible pump or siphon to remove the water from top of the winter cover.
- Remove the winter cover while being careful not to let any debris into the pool.
- Connect the filter system to the wall skimmer and water return fittings.
- Fill the pool with garden hose half way up the skimmer opening.
- If you can clearly see the bottom of the pool see next step. If you cannot clearly see the bottom of the pool you will need to FLOC the pool to get the debris to settle to the bottom so you can vacuum.
- Using your manual vacuum, vacuum the bottom of the pool removing as much debris as possible. Do not use your automatic vacuum for this, it's only going to stir up your pool and cause more problems.
- Run your filter continuously for 24 hours.
Balance the pH, Alkalinity and Hardness of the water. If you would like us to do a water test at this point bring us a water sample for testing.
- Add Pool Power Algaecide as instructed on label. After adding the Pool Power Algaecide, add 1 Gallon of 15% Liquid Chlorine Shock for every 10,000 gallons of pool water you have.
- Run filter for 48 hours keeping chlorine levels at least 3ppm.
- After running your pool for 48 hours fill up your floating chlorine dispenser with APPROVED CHLORINE tablets and let it float in the pool. Do not put chlorine tablets in the skimmer basket; the high concentration of chlorine will shorten the life of all your plastic components, pump seals, and heater components. Also adding too much chemical through the skimmer and mixing chemicals can be volatile.
- Once the pool is your pool is clean bring us in a water sample to get your season started properly!
